  1. Pick your method There’s no Grab or Uber Eats here. You’ve got three main options: Message the restaurant directly (WhatsApp, LINE, Facebook, Instagram) Call them (very old-school, still works) Use local concierge-style services (some hotels/hostels or small delivery runners) Most decent restaurants are used to this and respond fast.
  2. Send a simple message Keep it stupid simple. Something like: “Hi, can I order delivery? 1 chicken pad thai, 1 mango shake. Deliver to [your location].” Menus are often on Instagram or Google Maps. Some places will send you a PDF or photos if you ask.
  3. Location matters (a lot) There are no proper addresses in many areas. You’ll usually: Drop a Google Maps pin Say something like “near 7-Eleven Sairee” or “next to XYZ resort” If your directions suck, your food might go on a scenic island tour before reaching you.
  4. Confirm everything They’ll usually reply with: Total price Estimated delivery time Sometimes a delivery fee (often 50–100 baht) Cash is king. Some places take transfers, but don’t assume.
  5. Wait (island time applies) Delivery can be: 20–30 min if you’re close 45–60+ if it’s busy or you’re far Rain = chaos. Expect delays.
  6. Receive your food They’ll show up on a scooter, probably call or message when nearby. Meet them outside—it makes life easier for everyone.
